A good ‘ol cover

By Danz

A great cover, in my opinion. I actually don’t think I could ever get tired of The White Stripes to be honest, think what you will. The Dusty Springfield version is epic. The song below, I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself, was originally written and composed by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and first recorded by R&B singer Tommy Hunt. Eventually it would turn into a #3 hit for Dusty come 1966. Buy The White Stripe’s version here (link directs you to the single with the b-side: I’m Finding It Harder To Be A Gentleman (Live On John Peel)), buy Dusty’s here.

Man.. Elephant is such a thoroughly good album (I literally have been listening to it all day, more specifically track 10: Little Acorns and track 13: Girl You Have No Faith in Medicine). On a side note, The White Stripes‘ documentary, Under Great White Northern Lights, directed by Emmett Malloy, is available for pre-order on their site. The link is located above!
